Our 1st Ultrasound and our 1st REAL Ultrasound

June 2, 2010

Well it was the 1st morning that we didn't have to leave the house at 5:50am to get to school and work so we were excited to have an extra hour to sleep in before our first ultrasound appointment. That extra sleep turned from one hour to almost two hours and we were rushing out the door by the time that we got ready. Well, we were used to having NO traffic on I-270 at our normal leaving time and didn't think about the traffic that comes long after we've left for the day. Needless to say we didn't make it to our appointment on time. We were 25 min late and in the military world that's a BIG NO NO and we weren't able to go to our appointment. [insert massive amounts of crying here] I was so upset :( Brad was too but as you all know, men don't cry, well at least they don't at there work place. So away we went not able to get another appointment for two more weeks! That felt like eternity! When we got home Brad calmed me down and drew our 1st Ultrasound for me.
This made me very happy and it's still on the fridge today!

Our first hospital ultrasound was done on June 16, 2010 at the National Naval Medical Center, and it was done with Nurse Lefkof, who has claimed us as her own and is going to see us through til' the end. Bennett was 12 cm long on this day and we also heard his heart beat for the 1st time. Sounded like a horse galloping, SO SO FAST!

It was surreal to see him on the screen and to know that even though I wasn't feeling many pregnancy symptoms or even looked pregnant at that point that there was in fact a little life growing right inside of me! GOD IS SO GOOD! How amazing are His ways!

Very had to see but his head is at the bottom left and his two little arms and body.
