Well it was a typical morning (for Brad anyways) but I knew it had the potential to be something special. I woke up earlier than Brad in hopes that I'd have some big news to share with him in a few minutes and oh BOY did I. Granted I didn't think of a clever way to tell him that we were going to be parents so I left the preggers test on the bathroom sink. Being the faithful teeth brusher that he is, and a creature of habit I knew that he couldn't possibly miss it, and got in the shower as quiet as a mouse.
I was eagerly waiting for his reaction when I heard him stir from bed and go to brush his teeth, well that event came and went and the water went off, tooth brush went back in the holder and still not a peep from Brad.... Hmmm I thought, that's interesting. Maybe he still has his eyes closed, I thought. Well being the patient woman that I am I decided to help the process along. "Honey, there are TWO lines on there...,"[Me], "Yeah, but the one is like half a line (meaning not as dark as the other one)... is that like half a baby?," [Brad], "Um, No hunny... that one definitely counts, there ARE two lines there, the one dark line is always there and the other one comes if it's positive."[Me], "Oh." [Brad] "We're pregnant hunny!" [Me] :o)
Well we went about our morning (but now really excited inside and thinking about the little bitty baby that we were carrying) and decided to take another test the next morning just to be sure. Well before we even got the the 2nd test we went to Cubbies that night and of course were just too excited NOT to tell anyone, so I showed the picture of the positive test to a few Cubbies leaders, got some amazing hugs and even a few tears of Joy. Just think, in a few years we'll have our own little one running into the church in his little blue Cubbies vest :)
The next mornings test was positive and we're on to a new phase in our life together. (Also as a random side note, this day was April 22, 2010, my 25 1/2 birthday :)
The one on the right is the first one we took and the line IS a little faint... "half a baby" hahaha, love it.
