Mommy's 1st weekend alone

Brad and Bennett went home for cousin Josh's wedding and I had the weekend to myself. They left on Thursday and came back on Monday. Everyone said, "oh you're going to get so much sleep!"... HA! the first night (Thursday) I didn't sleep much at all, still woke up like 3 times, i was waiting to hear from Brad that they had arrived safely from their flight. I think I may have even imagined Bennett crying, such a mom I am. Well Friday I had to go to school like normal so that wasn't much fun but I had the morning to get ready by myself so that was nice. Saturday I decided that i would go down to Williamsburg to see a friend from college, Melissa, and go to the beach! YAY! I was so excited to get there, it was about a 3 hour drive. I took LuLu with me, she rides so well in the car. Of course it doesn't matter what time or day you're going to leave the house to go somewhere you're probably going to hit traffic around here and of course the highway was totally back up!!! seriously, I left at like 10 am... not early, not late... WHERE DID THE TRAFFIC COME FROM! I had to have Melissa send me traffic updates so I wouldn't get stuck in it too bad, I ended up taking old highway 1 down instead and actually it was much nicer than the interstate. I finally made it about 4 hours later and Mel treated me to lunch! So delicious! Then we headed out to the beach, it was actually the James River, and laid in the sun, oh how nice it was! the water was SO SO warm! Mel told me to watch out for the jellies... the what Mel? The Jellies? Oh yes, the jellies! This time of year there are a lot of jelly fish in the river! I had never seen one in nature before (just the zoo) so that was really cool. Needless to say I didn't do any swimming, just a quick dip in the water because they were EVERYWHERE and I didn't want to get stung!  Saturday night we went out to dinner and had some delicious pizza and then sunday morning I came home (thank goodness that there wasn't any traffic). and then came monday... one more day to get up and go to school but at least when i got home my babies were back!!! :)

I made sure that Brad had the camera and told him to take a lot of pictures since Bennett was going to meet a lot of family for the 1st time... I was crossing my fingers for at least one picture... and here's what he came home with.
