Little Machine

Bennett is a little machine!!! He is constantly moving and constantly trying to get EVERYTHING! It doesn't matter what or even at this point, where it is he's going to get it! I'm talking, the TV, the cords behind the TV, the couch, anything that maybe under the couch, he's discovered the kitchen, all three bedrooms, the dog's food, the dogs toys, THE DOG, the cable box for the TV and the computer... OH HOW HE LOVES THE COMPUTER! An apparent blessing in disguise is that we have a laptop that broke (at the time we were upset) but now Bennett loves playing with it, he smashes the keyboard and shuts the screen with one hand onto his other hand and opens and closes it all the time. The one thing that he loves even more than the old computer is the remote control! Brad started giving it to him when he first was interested in it and now he's hooked, sometimes i give it to him and sometimes I hide it, but when he does get it we take a battery out so he's not changing the channels or ordering movies that we then have to pay for! haha.

I don't have a picture or video of this [on account of I'm not sure where the camera is at the moment] but Bennett is a PROFESSIONAL at pulling himself up on anything taller than him that he can get his hands on, he's very very good at this, and very fast too! Well on his way to mess with the TV yesterday he was distracted by my water cup that was at the other end of the TV stand and since he was already standing holding up on that he just decided that he was going to walk his way down to the other end of the TV stand to get his hands on my cup! THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS HE'S ONLY 7.5 MONTHS AND HE'S ATTEMPTING TO WALK! So we only saw this happen one time thus far but I'm sure the little worm is practicing at daycare when we're not watching... OH! This reminds me of a story....

I dropped Bennett off at daycare last Monday and one of his teachers asked me how he was doing at home with holding his bottle. I thought... oh geeze, i know that they have been working on this but i really think that Bennett is going to be one of those kids that just never wants to hold his bottle... well once i gently broke the news that he's still not to keen on holding his own bottle, and that he lets go every time we let go of the bottle, the teacher said, Oh, well he's doing a good job of holding it by himself here. REALLY KID! REALLY!? He had been playing dumb with us for about a week about holding his bottle!!!!! Hahahaha! What a little stinker! His teacher said that he'll only hold it if you give it to him and walk away that if you stand by him or are holding him then he won't hold it on his own, so they had been putting him in the swing and he was figuring it out just fine. Well now having this little piece of information I promptly called Brad and told him that we had both been duped by a 7month old!

He is also growing out of all of his clothes! We were very thankful to get a ton of clothes from our friends [who's son just turned 2 years old today!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!] and we thought yay!! we won't have to buy clothes for a year!! HAHAHA were we ever wrong! Bennett is just about out grown all of the clothes that we got from them, they were mostly newborn to 9 month clothes with a bit of up to one year old size and there are just a handful of onsies and a few pairs of pants that fit him. We've had to but 18month clothes for him and even some of the 24 month clothes that people bought for us he has been wearing. I'd say that he's in a size 12 to 18month onsie now and a size 9to 12 month pants. So if you know anyone that is looking to donate some clothes in that size... please let us know, or Bennett is going to be going to daycare in Brads clothes soon! and shoes.. HA! forget it! he's little feet are far to chunky for shoes, they have to be too long in order to be 'tall' enough to fit his little chunkers in there! The one par of shoes that do fit him that we have now are a navy blue pair of crocs.

So needless to say, Bennett is doing great, healthy and growing strong! BIG AND STRONG! :)
