Happy One Month My Sweet Sweet Son

This has been the longest and, yet now that the end is here, the fastest month of my life, I'm sure the same is true for Brad too. Bennett is already changing so much. The 1st couple of weeks he didn't want to be put down! He wanted nothing to do with his crib, bassinet or swing, we thought for sure that we'd be carrying him around until he graduated high school!!! (well that's what it seemed like anyways. :) but he is now sleeping in his crib more and more, and even hanging out in his swing sometimes! Also he didn't like to be put on his back at all but now he doesn't mind it, mostly he sleeps propped up on his side. Dad is great at making this noise,  cant make it and I'm sure I cant do it justice trying to explain it, its like a purring, tongue rolling noise and Bennett is enamored with it. He is even smiling at him sometimes, though that is hard to catch on camera. He stays awake a little more now and likes to hang out with us and make all kinds of noises and squishy faces, they are just priceless. I love that we know his exact cries. We were walking through the hospital today when we picked Brad up from work and I heard another baby cry and I just thought how wonderful that I can tell how different Bennett sounded from that baby.

Being parents has been the biggest change in our life and the best at the same time. Though there is SO much going on in our lives right now with me finishing school and Brad potentially reenlisting, and us just trying to figure out what we're doing with our lives, we wouldn't change anything :) We'll just continue to have faith and know that God has us in His hands and has a great plan for us. We'd like to know what it is, but then were would we need faith if He told us what our future held.

Brad's birthday is this Saturday and Grandma Karla and Uncle Adam are coming into town, so that will be nice. There are just a million things running through my head about this 1st month and I'm sure I seem a bit scatter brained but apparently that's part of being a new parent. Bennett is growing so fast, he is already out growing some of the clothes that he 1st fit into when he came home, he's very long! he has big feet and hands, his feet are just as long as some of the 3 month clothes that he wears yet those are still baggy on him, so just like his daddy he's long and skinny. Brad is very good at cutting Bennett's fingernails, he doesn't even need to trick him and do it while he's sleeping, I haven't tried it yet, why try and fix something that isn't broken, they are doing just fine in that department.

Bennett has my nose and eyes, but Daddy's blue eye color and his hair is even getting more blond. He has Brads eye lashes (they curl up in the outside corners) and his dad's hairline and chin.

One Month Old :) January 31, 2011
There are so many things that I can do now that just one month ago I didn't think I'd be able to do.
~ live on no more than 3 hours of consecutive sleep (most of the time less than that)
~type with just one hand, and the left one at that
~eat left handed while nursing (yes i have dropped food on the baby... oops!)
~I have a world record shower time of 4 minutes! :) hahaha, this i really thought was impossible...but it isn't!
